We're taking security to the next level.

With the ever-changing landscape of technology, and the ever-prevalent presence of fraud, securing your account information has never been more important.  Unified Identity Service (UIS) replaces the basic multi-factor authentication service used today and adopts industry-standard authentication methods designed to protect against varying types of online account takeover threats.

Benefits of UIS:

  • Infrastructure designed to identify and block credential stuffing attacks.
  • Preventions to make it difficult for phishing and other attack schemes to be possible.
  • Single identity to manage multiple profiles at the bank (if applicable).
  • Ongoing and inherent benefit of the software's security strategy.
What to Expect:

You’ll be prompted to create a new Digital Identity for ongoing access which is a
simple four-step process:

  1. Take action from the link provided in an email generated specifically for you on May 28th.
  2. Authenticate with your existing Company and Login ID.
  3. Create a new digital profile, including a unique Username.
  4. Establish a new two-factor authentication (2FA) method for subsequent account access.
There are specific timeframes associated with the creation of the Digital Identity, and if the steps are not completed timely it will result in not being able to access your accounts until your profile is manually maintained.

To ensure a smooth transition, we will communicate well in advance of this change, so please pay special attention to information shared via email, Information Center, Banner, or Modal messages.

FAQS

Q: What must be done to prepare for this change?
A: Watch for the email from the Treasury Management Platform on May 28, 2025 to start the process. The link in the email will only work for 7 days. Please note - Once you click the link, you will have 45 minutes to complete the process.

Q: Who do I contact if I have additional questions about this upgrade?
A: Please contact the Treasury Management Support Team at 616.374.3278 x1005, via email at tmsupport@ubmich.com, or a secure message within the Treasury Portal.

Q: Will I still need to use my token when initiating an ACH or Wire Payment?
A: There are no changes to that process. You will still need to enter your token code + 4-digit PIN.

Q: Can I use my current user ID?
A: Usernames now need to be unique across all our online banking platforms. In some cases a new User ID will have to be chosen. Using a combination of your existing username and Treasury Company ID will help keep the user ID unique and familiar at the same time.

Q: What are the requirements for creating a new username?
A: Usernames must be between 4 and 64 characters in length. Usernames can contain letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), dashes (-), underscores (_), apostrophes ('), and periods (.) and can begin or end with non-alphanumeric characters except periods (.) and spaces. Usernames cannot contain more than one period (.) in a row, accents, accented letters, ampersands (&), equal signs (=), brackets (), plus signs (+), at signs (@), or commas (,).

Q: What do I do if I have multiple Treasury logins?
A: If the same email address is tied to multiple Companies, you will receive an individual email for each Company. The first email link clicked will prompt you through the steps to create your digital ID. When you click the link in the second (or third) email, you will be able to use the "Already have a Treasury Bank ID?" Login to link an additional account. Upon entering your Digital ID you created the first time your accounts will be linked together under that one digital ID. Upon subsequent logins the user will get to choose which company they want to access upon login.

Q: Can I use the “Don’t ask for codes again while using this browser feature”?
A: Yes, the "remember this browser" feature is linked to the browser used when setting up 2FA. If a brute-force attack or login from another browser occurs, 2FA will prompt for validation. Access will not be granted until successfully validating from an established 2FA methods.
